First was a series of emails telling me the reservation was cancelled for a credit card decline when the reservation clearly said pay at the property. I called when we were on the way and was told the reservation was cancelled. When I protested, he said come anyway. When I got there, he said there was no room, and after 3 rounds back and forth, he rented us the room. The floor in the bathroom was sticky with visible dirt on the floor. It was late and we needed a place to sleep overnight. We got out of there as fast as we could. 1 star for convenient location. 1 for the decent bed. We would NEVER go there again.

We were desperate. Needed to be in NY for a funeral. Had to make reservations for Fri-Sat on Thursday. After failing to find space on seven tries, we got this place for $475 !!! The lobby is a hall, with outside doors at each end, one to the parking lot, the other to Queens Blvd with a note that says "use the other door." At the middle of this "lobby" is a room, protected by a bullet-proof window.. The most prominent sign on this window says, in bold letters: NO REFUNDS ! Next to that is a list of the rules of this establishment. They include: "no more than two to a bed; no prostitution; if you want porn, turn on your television." Behind the window are the people whose job seems to be to ignore, insult or sass their guests. Our room was clean and large enough for a cheap motel. The mattress was satisfactory and the shower was very good. The room rent did not include breakfast (We would not have used it anyway) The nearest restaurant is 3 blocks away, a nice little Mexican place. Across from that is a MacDonald's and a Wendy's. We went to the funeral in the morning and returned that evening to see that our room had not been touched: no bed made, no new towels. Fortunately the room cleaning cart was down the hall; so we took the towels we needed. When we asked about that the next morning, we were told that, if we wanted services, we had to ask for them. Nuff said.

Ipaid $184. for one night in this filthy place where the owners clearly don't care about their guests. From outside it looked like a house of doom. The furniture is old and beat up, not properly arranged. I has to beg for heat. Everything had dust and there was a ring of dust around the perimeter. The grout in the bathroom was black/pink (bacteria).the bathroom mat was a disposable table mat. The bath towels were dingy. A fly spent the night in the room. The tv channels were scrambled and shut off every hour then they made me sign an agreement not to allow kids to watch the tv sex channel which was the only channel that worked, all other channels were scrambled. The room was filled with cigarette smoke. I feel like I was in a bubble of germs. This place needs to be closed. The owners need to visit a hotel that charges this price to get an idea what $184. looks like.

This was a good loc if you are hunting for a cheap hotel in New york. Acceptable, since we don't have a choice. Reception that checks as in seems strict, perhaps a little since, they specify every rule in their inn. E.g.. 2 person in the room, no smoking, check on check checl out time.etc.

The good thing about this motel is that if you want to party every thing is fairly close driving wise and 15 minutes walking. The subway station briarwood/vanwyck is no more than a 10 min walk. The downfall is that this part of queens is 45 mins-1 hour away from the city. I had booked a double bed and surprising it was very clean. Based on the reviews and this being a last minute book for my friends and I, I was expecting the worst because people spoke so poorly of this place, but it was not bad. When ever I wanted extra towels it was given to me. If I had questions it was answered in a prompt manner and no one was rude. The bathroom does not have a vent , so it gets very steamy and you have no control over the ac so one minute it is hot and the next it is cold. The walls are very thin, so you can hear others around you talking, taking showers or using the bathroom period. The price was expensive for what the place is really worth, but at the same time this was last minute and it was during labor day weekend so it was okay. I would come back because my experience was not bad at all. I was expecting prostutes or drug dealers because of the bullet proof glass, but it was the opposite.
